A Story I Just Wanted To Share

I once ran a really silly Labyrinth Lord dungeon crawl where I rolled all the monsters and contents of each room randomly as the players explored the dungeon. Because the characters were on the first dungeon level, I kept rolling gnomes on the random monster chart. Eventually the characters had a troupe of gnomes following them around.

When the players inquired about the name of one of the gnomes I fell back on Nebin, the name of the iconic gnome Illusionist from 3e. Eventually the gnomes started dying in troves and I had to come up with new names for the de facto leaders of the gnomes, and because I was feeling unimaginative I simply called the three next ones Ebin, Drebin and Steve.

Also, apparently everyone thought Nebin was an asshole, so nobody mourned his loss.

I used Greek and Persian armour as inspiration, with his “dragon claw” symbol as a helm guard. And yes, he’s dark skinned.

I joined a pickup D&D game last night and played a greaser barbarian based on Marlon Brando. Thought it was fun, so I decided to draw the guy. I figure his tribe’s named the Wild Ones.

The idea came from reading this comic by Coelasquid. The draped coat pose I used was also based on a drawing of hers.
