syringesin asked: Re: Demihuman Deities: Agreed. It's too much to keep track of, all these gods & goldings. Have you ever seen the various 2e Forgotten Realms pantheons? 3 books, one titled Demihuman Deities, most of which I have never used. Too many gods all around, like college administrators.
Haven’t read the 2e books in question, but I do have the 3e FRCS which lists pretty much all the gods of the world in brief. The Monster Manual listed pretty much just one god per demihuman/humanoid race, but the FRCS told me that there was a separate dwarven pantheon, elven pantheon, gnomish pantheon, halfling pantheon, orcish pantheon and a drow pantheon in addition to the standard pantheon. It was all just too much, especially when many of the demihuman/humanoid deities were just racial variations on the themes explored by the main pantheon.
For an example, Sune is the goddess of love. Hanali Celanil is the elven goddess of love. Both are chaotic good. WHY ARE THESE SEPARATE DEITIES?!
