Yikes
My friend’s gaming group are going to be missing a few players this Saturday, so my friend invited me to run them a one-shot game.
I’ll probably be running Labyrinth Lord, but I don’t really have too much time for design. Probably end up running a generic dungeon crawl.
Help?
Oh, should’ve specified, going to start at 1st level, because can’t bother with creating...

Role-Playing Club
Me and a couple of my fellow students are thinking of starting an RPG club at our university. Because we’re all English majors and we know there are a lot of closet gamers among us, we thought it’d be nice to arrange something which everyone would be open to attend.
Of course, any role-playing club needs a snappy name and a good acronym/initialism. I was thinking of Department of...

beardhoward asked: The creature is from an original star trek episode. It had a poison bite on the show, so you might want to make the quills shoot out for poison dmg.... Just an idea

syringesin asked: Re: Demihuman Deities: Agreed. It's too much to keep track of, all these gods & goldings. Have you ever seen the various 2e Forgotten Realms pantheons? 3 books, one titled Demihuman Deities, most of which I have never used. Too many gods all around, like college administrators.

dergutekamerad asked: Well, in my case, we use the Rules Encyclopedia + Labyrinth Lord in our campaign. I hope I helped. -randomtumblrofuselessness

Demihuman Deities
I really don’t like demihuman deities. I’ve actually thought this way for the longest time, but only recently have I been able to articulate it properly.
The thing is, demihuman/humanoid deities not only cheapen and undermine the rest of the pantheon of their settings (i.e. why would my goblins worship Hextor, the awesome god of tyranny, when there’s a goblin god of tyranny...

Torn
I’m feeling somewhat torn: should I get OSRIC or Labyrinth Lord plus the Advanced Edition Companion for use as my old school game of choice?
The reason I’ve started actually considering Labyrinth Lord is because it has an official line of minis, and I’m easily wooed by pretty minis.

Many uses for the d12 in your games, if you’re weird like me and like d12s.

You Know What'd Be the Greatest Team-up Ever?
If Pendleton Ward and Telltale Games teamed up to produce a series of point and click adventure games based on Adventure Time.
I mean seriously, they could pretty much plug the engine directly from the latest season of Sam & Max, since that one relied heavily on the use of Max’s abilities to support Sam, kind of like what you could do with Jake. (Key hand!)
